Lars is a senior communications, marketing, and public affairs executive with more than 25 years of experience working for Fortune 500 corporations, start-ups and strategic communications agencies. His vast expertise includes senior-level advising, reputation and issues management, crisis communications, transformation implementations, corporate and product brand positioning, thought leadership, as well as change management, business, financial and M&A communications, and the development of sustainability/ESG and social impact strategies.
Prior to his current role at Clario Group, Lars served as a Managing Director at Allison Worldwide and in multiple marketing, communications, sustainability, and public affairs executive leadership capacities at Flowserve Corporation, as well as serving as an executive officer during the global industrial manufacturers time in the Fortune 500. During his more than 13 years at Flowserve he helped expand the company’s manufacturing footprint in China, navigate activist shareholder proposals, develop crisis communications strategies for multiple issues including a DOJ settlement, union and works council negotiations, global restructurings, and enterprise transformations. In addition to his time at Flowserve, Lars served as Managing Partner of Zelo Public Relations, a boutique strategic communications agency serving clients across a wide array of industries including financial services, biotechnology, luxury, professional sports, telecommunications, and consulting. Lars’ strong financial services background comes from his tenure at both Citigroup, where he served as vice president, communications, and public affairs, and was the head of public relations for the oil and gas credit card portfolio in the U.S., as well as at State Farm Insurance where he served in communications, public affairs, human resources management and operations roles.
Lars is a 2004 Marshall Memorial Fellow, a former member of the Arthur W. Page Society and a graduate of the Public Affairs Institute, Asia. He is a certified PROSCI Change Management Practitioner and holds a certification by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for Sustainability Reporting.
He has served on numerous industry and non-profit boards during his career including the Doak Walker Running Back Award, chairman of the U.S. Open Sportsmanship Award and chairman of the national award-winning Irving/Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.
Lars is a graduate of Texas A&M University and lives in the Dallas Metroplex.
